A Day to Relax

Yesterday I took it pretty easy. I went to the gym before classes, but not early enough because I ended up running around my room at the last second to get to class dressed properly and fed! haha! I'm sure it was quite a sight, me in my tights and a button down shirt scarfing down a bowl of cereal. The day ended and I got my letter to Taylor about proceeding directly to summer batch for my management semester. Hopefully it will be approved. Then Christa picked me up and we went to a Salvation Army-like place and I donated a bunch of clothes!! YAY!! And we looked around at how to decorate her new appartement. Then we had some yummy mexican food dor dinner and Christa made this heavenly dessert. It was a tortilla with a banana, nutella, and brown sugar, grilled. Ohhhhhhh!!!! I stayed there for the night and had a blissfully quiet night's sleep (as opposed to yesterday when I was plagued by the partiers of CDV blasting thier music).

This morning I had ayummy bowl of chocolate peanut butter oatmeal and some jasmine green tea. Then Christa and I shimmied off to the gym. I had a great workout, and then I FINALLY organized the loft in my room. I am the messy one between my roomate and me. I actually took the time to go through my stuff and toss out a bunch of papers and all that greatness. I feel so good when things are less and organized, but I just don't seem to do it often enough!! As a reward I chilled on my computer down in CDV and ate some white beans in tomato sauce with toasted french bread yum!

The new CDV team wants to expand thier menu, especially for the Vegitarians. Myra, the new Dave, asked me for my falafel recipe so I gave it to her today and she wants me to demonstarate it to the staff when the order for the ingrediants comes in. I'm all for that!! No news on the vegan food in main building situation. I still need to talk to Rachny about what is going on so I know if I get half-board. He wasn't in on friday, so Monday it is!

Tonight I'll be cooking and eating a yummy veggie curry with Tahir and Mitali and maybe Sebatian. Yup, all my Summer Batch people are back and I am still hanging out with them, which is nice. I did worry that they wouldn't be interested in my company after Albert left, especially Christa and Matt, but they keep inviting me over to stay the night and cook and chill, so I am happy about that. I have been somewhat negligent of my old winter batch friends though. I think one reason is because whenver they suggest hanging out it usually involves alcohol, which I am not really digging these days.

Class

Not much going on really. I am just getting up, going to class, going to the gym, doing some homework, chilling with friends, and sleeping. Tomorrow is potentially more interesting. I will be going down to Sierre with Christa and Matt to donate some clothes and stuff. Christa is looking to buy some cheap furniture to put into her new studio, and I'll be helping her move in on Sunday I think. So those are my plans!

Oh, so the whole half-board situation: My school Director, Mr. Taylor, fought it long and hard, my dad got involved, and finally Taylor approached me and asked me to make some vegan menus and they would be implemented within a week. He wrote my dad that they would be implemented and if not then I would get half board. I was then directed to the practical director, Mr. Taylor, who would be working with the chefs to implement it. He told me that this was a rediculous request. Way more inconvenient than Taylor thought and would most likely not come to pass. So I am supposed to talk to Rachney again tomorrow and see the final decision. Goodness Goodness.

I'm Back

Yes, I finalllyyyyy got my computer and I finally have consistent access to the internet.

So, what has been going on? The director did finally make a deal with me to implement vegan recipes into the meal plan and if they are not then I will get half-board. I am in a good academic class and a pretty good practical class. I have already been working in the kitchen for about 2 weeks and now I am on my first official week of school. I start with academics. I moved into my roommates class, which is really convenient! Today I had Organizational Behavior with a nice funny teacher, so, though he has already told us that the class is boring, I think it will still be good. I then had Effective Communication, with a real nice teacher. I think he is a good teacher too and it will go swimmingly. Then we had the A La Carte lunch service and they ACTUALLY catered to my pickiness as a vegan. I was truly impressed. Then we had spanish, which I dread for some reason, but it also went surprisingly well. It is the same teacher as last year, so I donno how long the greatness will last. She's just a little meek in her teaching style.

I spent the last few days relaxing up the mountain with Albert and his friends and really enjoyed that. It felt like a real vacation. More so than any I've had in a long while, which really makes me rethink my definition of a vacation and therefore what to do for my midterm. I did go snowboarding once, though I wanted to go more. It costs about 50 chf to rent a snowboard and 63 chf per day ski lift ticket. There is also a half-season pass which is 700, and I can rent for a half season, though I dono how much that is. It would get paid for after 11 trips, but I donno how often I will go, though there is sooo much snow here right now, and it is seeming to be a good winter for boarding. I also want to "waste my time" doing that instead of the only other recreational activity on the weekend, which is drinking/partying. I don't really want to do that so much anymore. They basically cancel each other out because you have to wake early to snowboard and you need energy and all. If you drink you don't wake early and you feel too icky to do much let alone throw yourself around in the snow. So it tends to be one or the other. I can also just not party, which is my plan anyway.

ANYWAY, I am off to the gym now and then some relaxation is in order. Albert left to the Philippines today. I hope we bump into each other again....or a planned bump would work fine too.

Hope everyone else is doing well out there!

Internet in Progress

Sorry about the complete lack of posting. I have VERY limited access to the internet right now. I should be all set sometime mid week next week. I'm sitting on the stairs outside of the cafe mooching off of the free wireless, on Albert's computer hahaha!!

Here is a brief update: I arrived on the 11th and stayed in Randogne. On the 12th I did early check in and got my room (CDV 22, the room my roomy and I requested yay!!). We have a small balcony and a big loft above, where we will be keeping our food and mini kitchen. Steffi, my roomy, comes tomorrow, so I need to clean the place up for her. I got allll my stuff from storage and slowly organized myself. I managed to get rid of a bunch of clothes that I really didn't need. I'm slowly minimizing my possesions...or at least trying to. On the 13th all the early check ing folk met to get thier "volunteer" work assigned. I'm working in the kitchen and am very glad that I brought my old NCC kitchen uniform. Today was regular check in so I gave in my computer, got all sorted out with my B-Permit and stuff of that sort. I just need to get my knives, hair-net and hats at 3 ish, and tomorrow I get my uniform!

I'll Fly Away

I Am Off Again! To London though. I am sore from exercising and get to sit in the same position for 8 hours. Ah, well, so is life. I did get a window seat in the second row of my class, which makes me quite pleased. I'll be visiting my friend Mari and may or may not have access to the internet, since she will just be moving into her apartment when I see her. I'll be posting later in the week though when I see my cousin Tarek. I'm excited. It will be nice to see them again. My European family! I haven't packed yet...how do I do this...I have no idea.

My Head Is Fine....Apparently. They did a CT scan and all was well in there, no little people moving levers or anything like that. BIG sigh of relief. Though, they also gave me no answers as to my head related irritants. So, I will be going to the Swiss people for help next.

If You Marinate Tofu with like, a soy sauce, ginger, miso, sesame, type dressing, and then bake it....ooohhh, so good!

Okay, yess, I know, I'll pack

Neurologist

I Am Going To The Neurologist Tomorrow.  I have been lightheaded a lot in my lifetime and am finally seeing someone about it....someone who might actually know what to do about it.  I have seen Dr.s before and they have nothing to say.   It has amazingly gotten pretty bad in the time I have been at home, which is convenient for the Dr.'s sake.  HOPEFULLY he will be able to diagnose something and also get rid of this irritating headache that the previous Dr. diagnosed as being related to a sinus infection.....the sinus infection is quite gone, and the headache is STILL here harassing me.  I don't want to have this going on while I need to be focusing on learning and such.

I Need To Start Packing.  Goodness I feel like I write that a lot.  I leave on the 6th and will be going to London!!  I'll be visiting my dear high school friend Mary and my cousin Tarek and his family.  I also found out that I could have been building up frequent flier miles and used them to get a business class ticket.  Grrrr....well, I guess I'll have to just start now.  Hopefully I will soon be able to fly back and forth in business.

I Still Don't Like The Cold...
